My Approach

I think it is so cool that you are exploring therapy. What a way to advocate for yourself! Therapy is a big deal and a relationship that takes time to grow. I do not take that lightly.

I use radical acceptance and radical gratitude to meet you exactly where you are. The list below explains common topics or issues people might bring to therapy with me:

  • Body Image

  • Self Esteem

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Sex

  • Pleasure

  • Grief

  • Identity development (sexual orientation, gender identity, etc)

  • Relationships (family, partner (s), etc)

  • Stress

  • Lack of coping skills

  • Codependency

My therapy practice aims to be trauma-informed, and is feminist, relational, empathetic, and rooted in an internal family system (IFS) perspective.

About Me

Hi! I’m Sarah and I use she/her pronouns.

I bring the intersections of my identities and life experiences to my work as a therapist. I build honest, transparent, and radical relationships that acknowledge and question my privilege.

I love live music, long drives, and being where the wildflowers grow.  I live and work on the land of the Dakota and Anishinaabe peoples (St. Paul)  with my partner and our cat, Mimzy.

I am someone who laughs easily and who loves to explore all living and growing things with compassionate curiosity. I love to spend time in my kitchen cooking for my loved ones, and finding cookbooks at thrift stores.

I became a therapist because I believe I can best support people navigating the multitudes of their existence and experiences. I am destined for complexity. I believe when complexity is held and explored, no one gets left out. I desire to hold space for people to ask questions, seek support, and explore who they want to be.

My approach to therapy means we acknowledge the elaborate systems that are no longer serving us and we let our imagination free.

In my role as a therapist, I recognize how systems and patterns may be impacting clients in a negative way. These systems include racist, sexist, fat-phobic, and transphobic systems.

My goal and hope for my clients are to support a greater understanding of self, and how you can be whole exactly as you already are.
